Cameron Highlands - Time Tunnel

Time Tunnel, Cameron Highlands

Time Tunnel is a museum which is located in Brinchang, Cameron Highlands. It is Malaysia's first memorabilia museum. There is a huge collection of pre-War items but most importantly, it reminds people about the early years of Cameron Highlands, and of course the disappearance of Jim  'Silk King' Thompson in the highlands back in 1967.

It is a great little museum. Brought back lots of good memories from the olden days.

An unsolved mystery to this day

ABORIGINE SECTION

Showcased the lifestyle of Orang Asli and their handicrafts

MEMORABILIA FROM WAR DAYS

OLD KITCHEN

It was fun to identify items that one knows from the olden days or have once used in Grandma's old house!

A small pool
Collectibles on the walls and hanging from the ceiling!

Old Malaya identification card
Small petting zoo

Kickapoo was my favorite back then!

Old sewing machine and iron

Another kitchen area

Old salon
Barber
Paddy days

A good ole game of Mahjong

An old Kopitiam

Vintage bottle cap liners!!!
I used to collect these liners. Didn't know what for but it was fun finding one under a soda pop cap. Getting a soda pop, in a glass bottle, in those days was a luxury. Finding a cap liner was jackpot!!!

Traditional accounting, I believe!
Weighing scales
An old wooden manual ice shaver

It was not only a good look of Cameron Highlands in the yester years but it was a good walk down memory lane from days gone by. It was great to see all the collectibles and read more about Cameron Highlands and the Malayan Emergency Period between 1948 to 1960. Loved the old photos. A collection well preserved.
