Welcome to Anting German Town  安亭德国镇 (Ān tíng déguó zhèn)

Shanghai's One City, Nine Towns project

This German-inspired town and residential area was designed by Albert Speer, whose father was Hitler's chief architect. This town has Bauhaus type buildings and a huge square. The square could be lively if markets or bazaars are held there. Residents' apartments are colorful. Beautiful landscape here.

A replica Goethe-Schiller Monument in Anting German Town;
the original statue by Ernst Rietschel's statue is in Weimar, Germany.

Johann Wolfgang Goethe and Friedrich Schiller are 2 revered figures in German literature. They had a remarkable friendship and collaboration.
