Shanghai - Luodian New Town - Sweden Town

Meilan Lake Metro Station, North of Shanghai

Sweden Town, also known as Luodian New Town, was an almost 2 hour metro ride from Pudong. We took our home line, Line 13, changed at Changqing Station to Line 7, then all the way up north to Meilan Lake Station. It was a happy welcome to see Sweden town from the windows of the metro!

This Swedish-inspired town was modelled after Sigtuna, a town in Stockholm, Sweden. It was apparently designed by Swedish architects. Meilan Lake was actually inspired by Sweden's Lake Mälaren.
