Shanghai Chenshan BG - Wisteria

Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden

There are Wisteria trees all around this park. Since this is only the beginning of Spring, these purple beauties have started to grow but not to maturity yet. I hope I will be able to watch them mature as they look like purple curtains when they are fully grown.

Wisterias are native to Asia and North America. They grow in huge clusters of purple, blue, pink and white. There are actually differences between the American Wisteria, Chinese Wisteria and Japanese Wisteria.

The Chinese Wisteria can grow from 60 - 100 feet tall and they are really fragrant flowers.
