Volkswagen Fest 2018

Visited the Volkswagen Fest today at Setia Alam. Partly, it was for my good friend Zain who could not make it to Kuala Lumpur (he is nuts over VW) and I was always fascinated with the car's air-cooled rear engine! My uncle owned one and I always loved climbing into his Beetle for a ride.

Did you know...

The Volkswagen was founded in May 28, 1937, in Germany?

Its original designer is non other than Ferdinand Porsche!

Germany was then under the control of Adolf Hitler who formed an automobile company named Gesellschaft zur Vorbereitung des Deutschen Volkswagens mbH which was later named asVolkswagenwerk or The People's Car Company.

Headquarters was in Wolfsburg, Germany. Soon, World War II began and VW halted production. After the war, the ruined VW factory was resuscitated. After the Beetle was advertised in the USA, it became the top selling automobile.

So it is fun to see some designer VWs today with a Special Edition range. Enjoy folks!
