29 July 2018 (Sunday) We decided to try and find the white sand dunes along Pantai Klebang, Melaka. We entered the beach front but drove straight instead of turning into the beach area, right to an empty lot for parking. Then we walked a long stretch, to the right, before we reached the dunes. It was a very fascinating sight although the heat was killing us softly. We survived a good hour there then surrendered. The walk back to our car was the longest, I thought. The heat could make you think crazy things and see things moving too. I felt like a burnt, jelly duck. When we reached a stall by the car park, we ordered 2 bottles of 100 Plus. I had never drunk a bottle of 100 Plus so fast in my whole life. I just gulped down the bottle at one go and breathed...then drove off to hunt for coconut shakes!
It was reported in the news that the dunes were the result of reclaimed land for some beach front property but it failed. It has been a good 10 years so the sand has been shifting all over the place, creating concerns for new developers to take over.
Some of the dunes were as high as 60 feet.
I was looking for a little pool but I found one filled with algae.
Do not forget to hope and happy be (John McLeod)
These are some trees which were located nearer to the sea. The whole area of the dunes were totally open. No shades of trees. Just plain white sand.
A movie crew was at the dunes when we were there. It was amusing to watch them hiding under tents to do their heavy makeup and then had to walk out under the sun to do their shots. Then, quickly run back to the tents!
