Shanghai Botanical Garden - Flower Gardens

Shilong Station was our destination via metro from Pudong in order to reach the Shanghai Botanica Garden. From the station, we had to cross an bridge and walk straight to the end of Longwu Road. Could not wait to visit the 200 acre garden!
Shilong station was one of the oldest looking metro stations I have ever seen so far.
Sweet potatoes
Gotta walk across this bridge
Looking back at the metro station from on top of the bridge. Look at the bicycles!
Longwu Road, I think! It was quite a busy street with shops on both sides.

We are finally here! Quite a nice walk from the metro station.
This garden started in 1974 and it is China's biggest municipal botanical garden. This 200 acre garden covers:

  *  Flower gardens
*  Penjing Garden (small Chinese gardens)
*  Conservatory 1 & 2 Tropical Rainforest Plants
*  Chinese Cymbidium Garden (Orchids)
*  Museum

They even have their own research and production facilities here. Winter is already this beautiful. Can you imagine this garden in Spring?

This blog entry will cover only the flower gardens. Gotta split the entries up because there are plenty to share with you guys on every major section of this garden.
