Gamle Raadhus Restaurant
The original City Hall 1641 for Christiania, the old name for Oslo
The oldest building in Oslo
Opens at 5pm
We were walking around the Fortress just behind it, kinda waited for it to open. Day had turned dark and icy roads did not make it easy to walk about.
We had no reservations but was welcomed in for dinner. Service was polite. They had a dinner party going on in the next room later on so my guess that this restaurant is famous among what I assumed was the elite.
Menu was not of a huge variety. It was a short list and price was steep. Well… since we are already here… might as well try good old Norwegian cuisine.
Butter
Bread was freshly cut and crispy on the outside, soft in the inside. We had 2 helpings. Lovely bread!
Had Riesling dessert wine, 97kr per glass
Pan fried Cod
Veal
Mussels
Restaurant’s taxi app was not in order. They were kind enough to book a taxi for us. We got a kind funny old driver who was a fan of Bob Dylan! Had a nice chat about the Northern Lights and art back to the hotel. Taxi driver did mention that we just ate in an old traditional restaurant in Oslo.
