Makcik Asiah’s stall is located along an alley in PJ Old Town. It’s the 1st alley if you are coming from McD’s, passable by car. She starts her stall at around 9AM but just to get things ready. She only starts her major frying at 11AM and finishes by 5.30 PM. However, she has some kuih ready to sell in containers if you drop by before 11AM.
She is open from Mondays to Saturdays. Sunday is her off day.
I was there at 9.30AM today waiting for the lui cha shop to open. So i stopped by and Makcik Asiah was just getting ready to fry tofu. Her tofu are filled with veggie, covered in flour mixture and a green chili sticking out. Very yummy! So i told her we would come back for the tofu.
Later on the afternoon at about 1.30PM I dropped by and most of her kuih were gone. I went back for her banana fritters. Chatted with her too and wanted to do a video for her and her business.
She is such a hilarious lady. Lovely to chat with. Think we laughed more than we chatted.
She is from Ipoh. Is in this goreng-goreng business for 37 years already. Goodness!
