Batik Malaysia Day is officially on the 3rd December but Kompleks Kraf was celebrating it for a week.
So we decided to visit the complex on its official day to see if there was anything specially planned.
Yes! For the first time, they were having Batik Rahmah where each vendor had to contribute some of their lieces for a discounted price. YB Tiong King Sing, the Minister of Tourism, Arts & Culture, was present to launch the Batik Rahmah section.
Finders Keepers
Sifu Wong is the man behind Finders Keepers. He is friendly and most willing to share how he does his work. He dyes his own batik and designs the bags and jackets he sells. His products are of such good quality that we bought some of bags.
YB Tiong arrived at about 1.15pm to launch Batik Rahmah.
I was too amazed to see the people buy the batik rahmah til I forgot to take photos! Wow, the power in buying! By the dozens!!!
Then we joined everyone else in batik painting the banners. Was fun doing it together. Just pick a color and start painting whenever you wish!
