Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower or La Tour Eiffel was the main exhibit in the World's Fair in 1889. It is a wrought iron lattice tower on the Champ de Mars in Paris. It is 1063 feet in height and weighs 10 000 tonnes. The Eiffel Tower is a symbol of the conquest of Paris by the Germans in 1940 and then Paris' liberation in 1944.

We were very excited to meet the Iron Lady of Paris. Who wouldn't? We had our tour and lunch planned out whilst we were there. The amount of visitors was tremendous. It was a long wait to get into the lift to go up and down the tower.

Lunch was at the first floor of the Eiffel Tower at a restaurant named 58 Tour Eiffel.

We refused to come down from the tower! So we grabbed coffee and lazed around some more.

When we finally came down, it rained! Sigh. Not a pretty sight.
