The George Inn, Lacock

(This photograph was taken from the book Lacock From Old Photographs by Chris Breach)

A traditional English pub dating back to the 14th century, 1361 to be exact, The George Inn encapsulates the spirit of Old England. It has retained its old English character with original old oak beams and a medieval open fireplace to provide a cosy atmosphere. They also serve a full range of Wadworth beer.

Lacock itself dates back to the 13th century. It is largely unchanged over the centuries, with its many lime-washed, half-timbered and stone buildings. The village is a famous location for Harry Potter and Pride and Prejudice. Today, Lacock is a preserved village owned by the National Trust. The village still has a school, shops, post office and bakery.

We visited this lovely quaint village with some friends and had lunch at The George Inn. Although we did not have much time to explore the whole of Lacock, being able to visit The George Inn was an honor.
