Pantai Cunang

There is a white-sand beach in Tanjung Sepat, tucked away, surrounded by a mangrove forest and maintained by the Mah Meri (Orang Asli) Aboriginal Community.  It is called Pantai Cunang or Cunang Beach.  It is not difficult to find but the roads towards the beach is a narrow one.  Cunang means calm or peaceful in the Mah Meri language.
This is the entrance to the beach. Let's park the car and walk.
The Mah Meri people are well known for turning waste into creative art. They are also very skillful with handicrafts.

Interesting entrance

This is Mah Meri art work indeed!

WHERE IS THE WATER?
I knew it was low tide BUT this was the lowest of low tides I have ever seen. It was super duper depressing.  Danggg, I wanted to dip my toes into the sea and it was like a mile away. Toes were displeased!

The beach is beautiful. White sand. Lots of seashells. There are unique huts here and there.
There are some rubbish here and there. Maybe it is because of the quarantine that people have not been cleaning the beach.

To the left side of the beach
To the right side of the beach
We decided to thread carefully on the ocean floor and venture out into the 'dry' sea. Not an easy stroll because there are tree stumps everywhere. Some parts are damp too. It felt weird cos we walked so far out and looked back, only realized we were pretty far off from the beach.

Tree stumps everywhere. Swimming could be dangerous here!

A selfie on the ocean floor at low tide!

Stumps of mangrove trees everywhere
Beautiful casuarina pine trees along the beach

THESE trees caught me eye! I needed to walk to them and see them up close.
Dead trees all lined up in a row. What a beautiful background they would make for photos!
Gotta get our selfie here!

A mangrove tree trunk up close

Not a pretty sight but unusual in its own way
Someone left his shoe, not footprints!
Mah Meri huts all along the beach. I have a feeling these are for people who come for picnics or for a day trip and not to stay overnight. There was nobody at the beach when we were there so was unable to know more about this unique beach.

And then...I SAW IT!
And, IT SAW ME!
Look at that grin on its cheeky face. It looked as though he was thinking which part of me he should take a bite first.!!!
"Hey buddies, I found a hooman"!!!

Look at the monkeys!

Monkeys started coming in groups and it was time for us to ciao! NOT going to be monkeys' dinner.
