Parc Guëll

Parc Guell was built from 1900 to 1914 and opened to the public in 1926. Antoni Gaudi, the pioneer of Catalan Modernism, was the mastermind behind the design of this park. Gaudi was a Spanish architect and well-known as the face of Catalan architecture. With Parc Guell, Gaudi had created a fabulous forest with unique multi-coloured mosaic designs and Roman-inspired columns.

It snowed when we visited Parc Guell. It was awesome getting to walk through the park in light snow. It was astonishing to see how Gaudi designed the pathways, strange-looking arches made up of stones and a wavy mosaic bench that has a grand view of the park and Barcelona. Parc Guell is like a fantasy world on its own.

Gaudi's famous lizard is named El Drac. Some called it a dragon but it looks like a Salamander to me!
